I've recently found myself addicted to playing online Texas Hold 'Em. I've always played the occasional game of poker with friends over the years, but until a couple of days ago – after a recent trip to Las Vegas – I never tried playing online. It didn't take more than a couple of games to feel hooked, though. Considering my recent discovery of the absorbing world of online Texas Hold 'Em, I was excited to review Zynga Poker.

Zynga Poker is an iOS version of the popular online flash game by the same title. The app is fully integrated with Zynga's Facebook version, allowing gamers to easily play with their Facebook friends on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Of course, players can choose to experience Zynga Poker as a guest, without logging into their Facebook profile, but the experience is greatly enhanced by logging in.

From the menu, players have a couple of options to choose from. There's a 'Play Now' mode that quickly finds and enters gamers into a game of Texas Hold 'Em with other players. Or if gamers prefer, they can use the 'Hold 'Em Tables' mode to do a customized search for a specific table. Gamers can choose the stakes of the game, min/max buy-in, table size, game speed and more. From there, the app finds a game with those specifications. Lastly, there's 'Sit-n-Go,' which places gamers in a tournament-style series of games.

Zynga Poker is fast, and it sports a clean, intuitive interface. The best part of the app, though, is really its Facebook integration. Thanks to it, gamers can easily play with their Facebook friends from whatever iOS device they choose. Players will likely enjoy being able to keep tabs on how well their friends are doing, as well as being able to chat with them during games. But outside of the Facebook integration, this is still a more than solid app. It has a wide variety of useful options, including a feature that vibrates the device when it’s the player's turn (very useful if one's not paying complete attention to the table). There's also a Hands Rank page, which is useful for new players. And, lastly, the app even keeps track of player's all-time best hand, which is kind of cool for bragging rights.

All around, Zynga Poker is an excellent download for anyone looking to play some online Texas Hold 'Em on the go. In fact, I much prefer playing Zynga Poker on my iPhone or iPad over using the Facebook version. The interface is much cleaner, and the experience that much better. Highly recommended.
